Friends of La Leche League hosted a wonderful trip to Chicago on October 24 – 27, 2024. Our trip coincided with the LLLI Celebration Gala and the launch of the ninth edition of The Art of Breastfeeding. This provided a wonderful opportunity to reminisce and celebrate the history of LLLI and the contributions of LLL Leaders. Trip highlights included an opening night reception, walking and boat tours of Chicago architecture, fun meals, museum visits, and participation in the LLLI Celebration Gala. Several people also participated in optional tours of the LLLI Archives at DePaul University. We concluded with a day spent at Wilder Park, where the idea for LLLI was conceived, at which LLLI Founder Marian Tompson helped lead the We Remember Ceremony. Registrants enjoyed our activities, but all agreed that the best part of the trip was connecting with Friends new and old, especially after so long since our last in-person event.
