Karen was a Leader for nearly 30 years from 6/1/1979 to 6/1/2008. She and her dear friend Deb Keller led the group in Redford Township Michigan. They were both amazing group leaders, enjoying the supportive discussions while softly adding the information moms needed, and were both compassionate one-on-one communicators listening to all moms with empathy and kindness. Karen saw I needed a new tribe of nursing moms and opened her home and family to me. She became a friend who saw me through many difficulties as a young mom. She visited me on bed rest, provided daycare for my toddler, visited me in hospitals, sewed quilts for my newborn and clothes for my kids, brought food and comfort when we had illnesses. She was gentle and understanding as I looked for my path as a mother. Karen was one of the most accepting and open people I’ve known and she was always happy to have me drop in or call. I am so grateful for the many loving influences she had on my life. On behalf of myself and all the hundreds of moms she helped I extend our sincere thanks and tender sympathies to her family and friends.
