Anne was accredited as a Leader in 1972. She was a Leader with the Dunedin North (later Dunedin Central) and Dunedin West Groups. Anne served as Editor of LLLNZs publication for parents, Aroha and as a Coordinator of Leader Accreditation for Area V. In the 1980s she worked in national roles, first as the Administrator of Leaders for LLLNZ and from 1989-94 as the Director of LLLNZ. She served a six year term as the Asia/Pacific member of the LLLI Board of Directors 1994-2000. Along with another former LLLNZ Director, Anne Heritage, Anne was responsible for developing the LLLNZ Peer Counsellor Programme and later became one of the first Peer Counsellor Programme Administrator trainers.
Anne’s leaves a legacy of service in her community, over 50 years of volunteering with La Leche League and over thirty years as one of the Coordinators of Refugee Support Group (Dunedin). With a strong belief in La Leche League’s purpose, mission and philosophy she worked alongside Leader Applicants in the Leader Accreditation Department until retiring just recently.
