LLL Leader Jen Rosenthal applied for a Mini-Grant to fund education programs for LLL Maine/New Hampshire Leaders. Jen reports that their first workshop with Re+Birth Equity Alliance was held on February 27, 2021. The program was held virtually and made available to Alliance Leaders from around the country. They set a low fee for the program so that Leaders would feel invested in their education, and also to help bridge the gap between the costs of the workshops planned ($3,500) and the grant amount ($1,500).
By mid-summer of 2021, plans were being made for ongoing educational workshops with Nekisha Killings, who is a LLL Leader, IBCLC, and Equity Consultant. They intend to build on what they learned from the Re+Births Workshop and relate that to other work being done with LLL. While the MIni-Grant was initially aimed to help LLL Maine/New Hampshire Leaders only, the grant actually has spawned a program with a wider scope and has helped Leaders from around the country.
